Petro Imen Sharif began its research in 2018 on converting used cooking oil into industrial oils. In 2019, after obtaining the required knowledge-based and export licenses, the company successfully exported its first production batch. The company’s export activities started with one container per month; now, with the support of specialized human resources and expanded production infrastructure, monthly exports exceed 250 containers to European and Asian countries.

Over the past years, with annual exports of more than 30,000 tons of product and foreign currency returns exceeding USD 26,484,060, Petro Imen Sharif has become one of the country’s top exporters and a leading Level-1 customs economic operator. The company’s foreign currency commitment rate has consistently remained above 90 percent.

With three specialized customs operations teams located at Kaveh Special Economic Zone Customs, Shahid Rajaee Port, and Imam Khomeini Customs, along with four specialized teams positioned at the ports of Antwerp (Belgium), Rotterdam (Netherlands), Mersin (Turkey), and Jebel Ali (UAE), the company is capable of handling all types of customs operations across various parts of the world. Its active office in the United Arab Emirates has also significantly enhanced the efficiency of international operations.

According to recorded data, the export performance of the company’s two main products—industrial oil, vegetable fatty acid, and biodiesel—has shown remarkable growth over the past six years:

  • In 2021, the company experienced a major leap, reaching USD 6,015,048.73 in exports.

  • In 2022, total product exports reached USD 4,249,103.50.

  • In 2023, this figure increased to USD 12,362,618.94.

To preserve material quality during transportation, standard flexitanks are used, and so far over 2,560 flexitanks have been imported through both permanent customs clearance and temporary admission procedures.

Strategic cooperation with its subsidiary, Dadban Tejarat Darya Shipping, has enabled fast and efficient transportation of imported containers.
