About Petro Imen Sharif

Petro Imen Sharif Company was established in 2010 (1389 SH) by a group of distinguished engineers and experts who graduated from the country’s top universities. Guided by the belief embodied in the motto “To will is to create,” the founders began their activities with the goal of leadership in scientific and engineering fields related to environmental protection.

In its early years, the company focused on delivering specialized training programs and executing technical and engineering projects. During this period, it successfully provided more than 300,000 person-hours of specialized training and carried out over 150 technical projects. Collaboration with and membership in the incubators of the University of Tehran and the Petroleum University of Technology were among the major achievements of this phase.

Starting in 2016 (1395 SH), the company initiated comprehensive and specialized studies in the field of used cooking oil waste management. After one year of research and evaluation of international models, Petro Imen Sharif succeeded in localizing the processes of collecting and processing this type of waste in Iran. In 2019 (1398 SH), by establishing the country’s first industrial units for the collection of used cooking oil, the company entered the operational phase.

Among the company’s key achievements is the construction of two factories in the Eshtehard Industrial Zone for the production of special industrial oils for renewable energy applications and biodiesel. In addition, Petro Imen Sharif acquired and revitalized two old factories producing fatty acids, oleic acid (acid oil), and glycerin in the Charmshahr Industrial Zone of Varamin. This initiative not only revitalized industrial activity but also created employment opportunities and contributed to the development of technical know-how in this sector.

One of these factories previously belonged to Asia Bartar Glycerin Company, which began operations in 1997 (1376 SH) as the country’s first producer of acid oil, fatty acids, and glycerin. The other factory belonged to Zarrin Tolid Company, which had been active in the production of detergents and soap since the 1960s (1340s SH). Since 2021 (1400 SH), through the efforts of Petro Imen Sharif’s knowledge-based team, both factories have been reactivated and returned to the production cycle.

Furthermore, the company is currently developing and commissioning new factories in the Shokouhiyeh Industrial Zone, Qeshm Island, and Kish Island, which will operate in the production of fatty acids, glycerin, and industrial oils.

By establishing the largest purchasing and collection network for used cooking oil waste in the country, designing specialized waste collection software, and launching more than 80 active workshops across Iran, Petro Imen Sharif has achieved nationwide coverage across all provinces. These activities have so far created direct employment for more than 350 people.

In 2023 (1402 SH), Petro Imen Sharif was awarded the status of “Technology-Based Knowledge Enterprise” by the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology of Iran—recognized as the highest scientific classification for companies in the country. Additionally, obtaining the Grade AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) Level One certification from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration and being named the Outstanding Exporter of Tehran Province in 2024 (1403 SH) are among the company’s other honors.

In 2025 (1404 SH), Petro Imen Sharif was recognized as the National Outstanding Exporter and received the Golden Trophy, reflecting the company’s sustained efforts, innovation, and leading position in Iran’s industry and export sector.
